Configuring a network location in OSX

Step 1: From your apple menu select "System Preferences"

Step 2: Select "Network" from your preferences list.

Step 3: From the location pulldown menu select "New Location"

Step 4: Give your new location a unique name, then click "OK"

Step 5: From the show pulldown menu select "Built-in Ethernet"

Step 6: From the show pulldown menu select "Network Port Configurations"

Step 7: Uncheck "Internal Modem" then click "Apply Now" to save and activate your settings.
