DFN is a full service Internet and Communication Services provider based in  Douglas County, Oregon. As a subsidiary of Douglas Electric Cooperative, our objective is to provide metro-class advanced data and telecommunications services and support throughout the County as well as connectivity to other regions and the Internet. We offer both Fiber Optic and Fixed Broadband Wireless based systems to meet the varied needs of our clients.

Fiber Optic Services

Our premium service offers direct fiber optic connectivity in and around the greater Roseburg area to enterprises and organizations with the most demanding requirements for speed and reliability. Internet access, Metro Ethernet and Transparent LAN services from 1 to 1,000 Mbps or more, DS1 and DS3 transport, Video transmission, SONET transport, and even remote Fibrechannel and ESCON connections are supported. Full dual-path redundancy is supported on our physical ring architecture. For Internet service, our network is dual homed with direct fiber connectivity to major public Internet exchanges and private peering points.

Fiber Optic services are particularly well suited to the Healthcare, Government, Education, and High Tech industries where speed, reliability, and security are essential.

Broadband Wireless Services

Broadband Wireless technology allows us to provide high speed services over a much broader area than it is economically possible to provide with fiber optics. We offer both residential and business class services. Our nine transmitter locations allow us a larger coverage footprint than our competitors, and our advanced radio systems offer much higher range, throughput, and reliability than 802.11 based systems.

Business Broadband Wireless provides access to both Internet and Transparent LAN services anywhere in our service area with a clear line of sight to any of our transmitter locations. Guaranteed speeds from 256Kbps to 5Mbps are available. From our low cost BizLite service to high end Custom solutions we can provide services and speeds to 100Mbps or more.

Residential Broadband Wireless offers high speed Internet access at low cost. No phone lines required, always connected, no hidden charges, and no equipment rentals. We install a small radio receiver on the outside of your home and an Ethernet interface and power injector on the inside.

We strongly recommend that you use a firewall/router on the connection. This will provide you with protection and give you the option of connecting multiple devices to share your Internet connection with wireless or wired devices depending on the firewall/router you select.

Other Services

DFN offers Co-Location services where your equipment is installed in our facility with 24 hour security-controlled access, conditioned uninterruptible backup power, and unmatched connectivity. We also offer Domain, Web, and E-mail hosting on our servers.
